The Big Student Walkout

On March 14 students all over the country walked out of class to protest gun violence. Students did this a month after the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Many students chose to leave for 17 minutes, in honor of each of those killed in the attack. Trump now wants teachers to carry guns with them at all times. Almost three out of four teachers oppose the idea of carrying a gun. A poll stated 58% of teachers say that teachers carrying guns would make schools less safe. Majory Stoneman, Emma Gonzalez has made many vocal calls for stricter gun laws. The refrain of her speeches are usually, "never again." On March 24 there is going to be a march on Washington.
